Solis
Makes Dynamo Jr. Academy
MLS Champions Houston
Dynamos recently announced inaugural roster for their U-12
Jr. Academy. Local West Brazos U-10 player Solis made this
roster. Rule changes in the MLS professional soccer league
allow clubs to identify and develop local players and sign
them to professional contracts directly, avoiding the
draft. This incentive has each club starting development
academies for local talented players. The Dynamos started
with U-18 and U-15 teams that have been very successful in
high-level competitions, i.e. reaching finals in Dallas Cup
in first tournament. These teams feed forward to the Dynamo
reserve team and eventually the first team. Like the first
team with back-to-back Championships, the future looks
bright for the Academy and Jr. Academy programs.
Mr. Solis earned his way onto a roster of
predominantly U-12 and U-11 players. Director of the West
Brazos Tritons Academy, Erik Stewart, says, “He has an
excellent work rate at training and in practicing on his
own. All that effort pays off in this recognition as one of
Houston’s top talents.” Mr. Solis plays in the West Brazos
Soccer Club fall recreational season and youth academy team
the Tritons. Congratulations, Mr. Solis on this
accomplishment.
Christmas wishes arrive as
Randon makes
Dynamo Jr. Academy
Major League
Soccer (MLS) Champions Houston Dynamos place West Brazos
player Randon on inaugural U-12 Jr. Academy. Randon was
told the good new on Chrsitmas Eve. 2005 rule changes
made youth development a priority for all MLS clubs. The 2
time MLS Champions Houston’s Dynamo have expanded their
successful U-18 and U-15 Academes to a Jr. Academy starting
at the end of January 2008. Mr. Randon makes the second
U-10 West Brazos Triton Academy player to break into this
U-12 roster.
Mr. Randon has been a dominant player locally
and in tournaments throughout South Texas over the last 3
years. Tritons Director Erik Stewart said, “I’m pleased
that all the hard work Randon has put in at home, in
practice and probably over 150 games is paying off. He’s
always been something to watch.” Congratulations to, Mr.
Randon on this accomplishment.
