What do I do to register?

To complete Player Registration the following must be received by July 4, 2011:

1) A completed Registration Form

2) A copy of player's birth certificate for proof of age

3) Payment

Can I register on-line?

Yes, yes you can! WBSC is accepting registrations through Affinity (the rostering program of STYSA). Go to stx-westbrazossc.affinitysoccer.com and select the "Registration" Tab in the upper right corner to begin the on-line registration process.

Can I print and mail my application?

Yes. You can fill out the Registration Form and mail it (with a copy of birth certificate) to: P.O. Box 1724, Brazoria, TX 77422

When and Where is Registration?

Registration is open from now until July 4, 2011.

We will have live registrations at the following remaining opportunities:

Saturday: July 2 - Celebrate America in Brazoria (we will be at the First Baptist Church of Brazoria) from 5:00PM to 8:30PM.

How much does it cost?

Fees are listed below per player. There is an additional 50% family discount for 3rd+ siblings that register.

How does the candle fund-raiser work?

The candle fundraiser has been successful in the past. Print out the candle order form here. You must sell a minimum of $60 worth of candles. In August your candle money and order forms will be due. Around October-ish we should get the candles to you and you will need to distribute them to your buyers. If you do not turn in your candle money, you will not receive your uniform. Also, we have incentives this year:

Anyone who sells over $100 (and is not one of the top three) will be entered into a drawing for one of ten $10 prizes.

Everyone selling over $80 will receive a mystery coupon (sell the candles and find out what the coupon is for!)

I want to play for a particular team or coach. How do I choose this?

WBSC is a small club and as such we try to ask and accomodate player preferences. We have created an entire page of Player Preferences to try and explain how this aspect of team formation works.

What age group do I play in? Can my four year old play?

The age determination date is July 31, so the age of your child at 11:59 PM on July 31, 2011 will determine their age group. We offer age groups from 4 to 18 years of age. Anyone who is 4 years or older and not yet an adult can play. Some exceptions may be made for children who are under 4 years of age if a parent has a strong desire to coach (but, please discuss this with someone on The Board).

What does registration include and what else will I need to buy?

Your player registrations will include uniforms and all required fees for the season. At the beginning of the season each team is required to submit an auction basket for SoccerFest. You will still be responsible for purchasing shin-guards (REQUIRED) and cleats (recommended). For those new to soccer, soccer cleats do not have a "toe cleat" and therefore other sports cleats (i.e. baseball, football, etc.) will not be allowed by the referees. In additon, soccer cleats are made with little padding on the in-step to provide better ball control.

Whoaa, what was that about an auction basket?

At the beginning of the season each team is required to submit an auction basket for SoccerFest. Your coach will work with you to determine a contribution and "theme" for your team (it may be an item or it may be a $$ gift). This should not require a contribution larger than $5 to $10. Some teams choose to contribute items they already own, others collect money from each player and go buy items. For example, you may have a "household cleaners" theme where everyone contributes a cleaning product. Other themes have included movie themes, fishing themes, sports themes, etc. For further questions about the auction basket, please contact the fund-raiser coordinator: fc@westbrazossoccer.org

Are there any Discounts Available?

Families with more than 2 players will receive a 50% discount for all 3rd+ players (proof of guardianship required).

A candle fundraiser is available and will lower your registration cost by $30. To participate, you must agree to sell a MINIMUM of $60 worth of candles. Families, with more than two players will receive the fundraiser discount for the 3rd+ player(s) without being required to sell candles.

Are there any payment options?

Due to past abuse, we are not offering payment plans this year. We strive to work with families so that every player who wants to can play. If you would like to discuss your particular situation, please submit your request in writing to P.O. Box 1724, Brazoria, TX 77422 or e-mail to: aid@westbrazossoccer.org. Please include your name, phone number, and the names and ages of the players in question with any correspondence.

What levels of competition are available? How can I "play-up"?

Submit the Play-Up Request Form: WBSC_Play_Up_Request_Form.pdf. Play-Up requests are handled at team formation on an "as possible" basis. Submitting this form does not guarantee a player's ability to play-up.

Where are the boundaries of WBSC?

There are no geographic restrictions for registration with WBSC. We form teams in Sweeny, West Columbia, and Brazoria and will try to place you on a team in the city closest to your location.

What happens if I miss the registration dead-line?

Bad, bad, things! Don't do this. There is plenty of time - register before the dead-line!
